Aslan the Tuxedo Cat - Pretty Kitty of the Month - August 2020

~ This beautiful boy is all grown up now, but he's been thinking like a big boy ever since he was a kitten. Aslan had some nice advice to everyone, and we'd like to share it with you. So, here's a bit of an Aslan quote:

"I would just like to remind everyone that you can be anything you want to be. If you want to be a lion, then be a lion! The choice is yours."

We think that is a great message.

We have more photos of him and his meowma to share with you here below.
You will get to know him more with the following Exclusive Interview!

Aslan's Special Exclusive Interview

Aslan, you're the winner of our Pretty Kitty of the Month photo contest, and everyone is smiling at you. I'm "pawsitive" they would like to know more about you.

Can you tell us how you found your meowmy?

One day back in November 2012, a lady tried dumping me at the local Petsmart. I was so scared and crying so hard! I was only 4 weeks old and my lip was torn from a dog that had bit me.  It hurt! There was a really nice blonde lady that asked her what she was doing with me. The lady that had me said she was leaving me there because otherwise I was going to be fed to their dog!

The nice blonde lady quickly took me and gave me little kisses on my head to make me feel better. It did. She would forever be my new mom. I even started my little squeaky purring motor to show how happy I was in her arms. I could tell she  instantly loved me and I would be safe. I was taken right away to the doctor so they could check my injuries. I fell asleep upside down in my new moms hand. She kept kissing me! I was so happy!! My mom named me Aslan right there in the doctors office. She tells me she named me that after the character Aslan from The Narnia book series because I am brave and strong like the Narnia lion!

I got to go to my new home right away and was so excited to see I had a brother! His name was Tiggy and he was 15 years old at the time. My mom rescued him as a baby too! He only hissed at me once but wouldn't leave my side. We instantly became buddies and he taught me how to be a great kitty just like he was. He went to the Rainbow Bridge in 2017 and I miss him so much.

Fast forward almost 8 years and I am a healthy, 16 pound, handsome boy (if I may say), and king of the house!  I am a non-stop "purring machine" and love my parents so much! I am very relaxed and love to do just about anything. I was leash, collar and harness trained as a baby, so wearing either doesn't bother me at all. My mom takes me shopping at Petsmart and I love it! I get to see all the animals and check out the latest toys. I even get to ride the checkout register belt. It's so much fun! I like to dress up in clothes too. I have quite the closet of outfits ranging from work ties, Hawaiian shirts, to football jerseys and costumes and of course, my Starbucks apron. I don't mind it at all and I love to make people laugh and smile. I even dress up for Halloween and help pass out treats to the kids.

Aslan the Tuxedo Cat, Loved by Amber K. of North Carolina

One of my favorites places to relax is in my window hammock. My mom put up an outside window bird feeder and others in the trees so I have lots of bird friends that I talk to all day long! Squirrels, ducks, pigeons, and even deer have come to visit me. I love to lay on my back, nap, play with all my toys and talk to my mom and dad. OH! I love treats too and I sit on my rug near my treat jar to get them. Mom says I am very smart. I don't like thunderstorms though, but mom puts me under a blanket and cuddles me so I feel better until it's over.
Many say I am spoiled. I say I am extremely well loved and I feel very blessed.

Thank you to all the humans who rescue animals like myself every day. I am so happy to have my family and be in a loving "furever" home. Thank you Halos and Pawprints for sharing my story and sharing about all the amazing kitties in our world.

Love,
Aslan
